Golf carts will be allowed on the Grand Isle Beach with the following conditions:

(1) The operator of the golf cart must be at least 16 years old and must have a valid driver’s license. Insurance is recommended.

(2) The golf cart will carry only the allotted passengers that it is built for.

(3) Anyone who wishes to operate a golf cart or side by side on the Grand Isle beach must purchase beach access tag at a cost of $75.00 per year, which tag can be purchased at the police station and which tag must be visible on golf cart or side by side, with tag expiring on January 1 of each year.

(4) Riding is allowed on beach 30 minutes before sun rise and 30 minutes after sun down.

(5) Speed limit is ten miles per hour or less.

(6) Golf carts (electric or gas) and side by sides only are allowed and not ATV or 4-wheelers.

(7) Must use marked crossings in order to cross levee and there is no crossing or driving on the levee allowed where no accesses are provided.

(8) No riding parallel to the beach shall be allowed in the “swash zone” and for a distance of 50 feet north of the northern most point swash zone. People may take a horizontal path to the beach to drop off their materials, supplies, ice chests, tents and other similar equipment.

(9) No pulling of rafts or body boards or any sport by golf carts or side by sides.

(10) The penalty for violating this ordinance is $100.00 for a first offense, $200.00 for a second offense and up to $500.00 for a third offense, and/or 30 days in jail plus court cost and will have license revoked

(11) Anyone who is in violation of number (8) above shall be subject to a first offense fine of up to $500.00 and/or 30 days in jail plus court cost.

(12) Vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles have the right of way first.

In consideration of the agreement herein, Island Adventure Rentals, LLC, (IAR) provides to the undersigned (hereafter referred to as the “Renter”) the Golf Cart described herein (“Cart”). Renter agrees said Cart will not be occupied by a greater number of persons than is shown in this Cart Rental Usage Agreement (“Agreement”).

I (We), the Renter(s), further agree:

(1) The Renter acknowledges he/she has carefully examined the Cart and finds it suitable for the purpose for which it is used, and that it is in acceptable condition. He/she will maintain the Cart in a safe, dependable condition while in his/her custody;

(2) Only the person(s) that art listed on this Agreement may drive this Cart;

(3) The above mentioned Renter is hereby responsible for all collision damage to the Cart regardless if someone else is at fault or the cause is not known;

(4) The Renter is fully responsible for the cost of any repair up to the value of the full replacement;

(5) The credit card (provided by the Renter at the time of check-in to IAR and on file) shall be charged the daily rate during the length of the rental agreement. Additional fees will apply for failing to return said Cart keys and Cart in as good condition as when received by the Renter, ordinary wear and tear excluded, and for reimbursement of any and all damage. Renter hereby authorizes IAR to process the credit card information in the name of Renter for all Cart rental charges, including the full vehicle value of any Cart that is not returned to IAR, all fines and traffic and/or other violations that may be incurred by Renter during the Agreement term period as stated above and to apply any payments made to the charges in whatever order that IAR deems necessary;

(6) Renter agrees to use and operate the Carts maintained by IAR, its assigns and/or affiliates, only within the designated boundaries of Grand Isle and on Private Roads only or as otherwise noted herein. At no time are the Carts to be driven past the Elmer’s Island Bridge, and should only drive carts within the legal limits set by the ordinance of Grand Isle, a list of which are included with your rental paperwork.

(7) Renter agrees not to use, nor permit the use;

a. of the Cart for any unlawful purpose;
b. of the Cart in a careless or negligent manner;

c. of the Cart if the driver is under the age of sixteen (16) or is sixteen (16) without a valid driver’s license;

d. of the Cart while under the influence of liquor and/or narcotics

(8) Renter agrees to report any accident, malfunction or breakdown of Cart to IAR immediately in accordance with this Agreement.

(9) Renter acknowledges his/her responsibility for the safe and proper operation of the Cart and for the safety and welfare of other persons. It is AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD BY RENTER that IAR, its affiliates, officers, directors, members, managers, delegates, employees, or agents shall not be held liable for damages, inconvenience or time lost caused by accident, breakdown or malfunction of the Cart. RENTER FURTHER AGREES to indemnify and hold harmless IAR from and against any and all claims for loss of or damage to property or injury to persons (including death) that is the fault of Renter or any third party.

(10) Declaration of Fitness: To the best of my knowledge, I do not suffer from any physical or mental disability which would make it unsafe for me to drive a motor vehicle.

(11) While operating your assigned Cart, you must follow all applicable town rules (copy presented at time of rental). WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REPOSSESS CART WITHOUT REFUND IF TOWN RULES ARE NOT FOLLOWED.

(12) In the event of malfunction breakdown, or if any defect is discovered after acceptance of the Cart, Renter will immediately report same to IAR. Continued use of the Cart shall be entirely at the Renter’s risk; therefore, Renter assumes all liabilities of injury and damage to all persons and property that may become injured or damaged by its continued use of the Cart;

(13) The terms and conditions of this Agreement contained herein are for the safety and welfare of all who use Grand Isle.



In consideration of the agreement herein, Island Adventure Rentals, LLC, (IAR) provides to the undersigned (hereafter referred to as the “Renter”, which term shall include all authorized users of “Renter”) the items outlined below described herein (“Rental Items”). In the event the Rental Item usage is not in compliance with this Agreement, said Renter agrees to pay penalties set forth by IAR.

I, Renter, agree to assume any and all liability associated with the use of this rental equipment. Furthermore, Island Adventure Rentals, LLC, shall not be responsible for any injury resulting from the use of rental equipment.

I, Renter, agree to replace any damaged, lost or stolen rented property or any other item rented from Island Adventure Rentals, LLC. Renter agrees to pay IAR in full for all loss or damage to the rented property whether such loss is caused by loss or theft of the Rental Item(s) or by reason of accident, or by careless or abusive use, or any other reason.

I, Renter, authorize IAR to charge my credit card on file for any lost, stolen or damaged items the prices which are outlined below and agree to the replacement cost for lost, stolen, or damaged items as listed as follows:


Furthermore, Renter agrees to the following Terms & Conditions:

(1) Renter assumes FULL responsibility for all acts or activities of myself or anyone that uses the Rental Item(s) during the time period I have rented for all damage or injury that may be caused by any or all of us by the use of the Rental Item(s);

(2) Renter releases, waives, discharges, indemnifies and covenants not to sue IAR including all of its corporate, elected and appointed officials, inspectors, financiers and, including all officers, agents, and employees of the foregoing and volunteer workers assisting in sanctioned activities, all hereinafter referred to as “Release” from or for an and all liability to Renter, Renter’s personal representatives, heirs, next of kin successors and assigns for all loss or damage for bodily injury, death, or damage to property of this under signed which in any way grows out of or results from any IAR Rental Item(s) or part thereof, during the

actual rental period and whether any such claim may be based upon alleged active or passive negligence whether caused by the aforementioned or otherwise.

(3) Renter expressly acknowledges and agrees that the activities associated with the Rental Item(s) can be very dangerous and involve the risk of serious injury and/or death and/or property damage. Furthermore, Renter expressly agrees that the forgoing release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of Louisiana in which the rental is conducted and that is any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding continue in full force and effect.

(4) Agrees to pay the rental rate specified for each item leased hereunder for each time period or fraction thereof that the rental property is charged to the possession of the Renter. The Renter shall be charged with possession of the rental property from the time he/she acquires possession of such property as indicated under “Date Out” until the rented property is returned to IAR as indicated under “Date Due Back.”

(5) Renter agrees to return the rented property of IAR immediately upon termination of this contract in the same condition as that in which the said property was received, ordinary wear and tear excepted.

(6) Renter agrees to keep and retain all IAR labels, plates, or markings in place on the rental property.

(7) Renter agrees to immediately cease using any rented property if the property is found to be unsafe or in disrepair. Renter shall notify IAR immediately in either such case and IAR agrees to replace the rented property with similar property in good working condition with reasonable dispatch.

(8) A full refund will be issued on all cancellations received 24 hours prior to reservation date and time. If a cancellation is made within the 24-hour period of the reservation date and time, IAR, shall have the right to charge 50% of the original rental fee to the card that is on file.


(10) Renter warrants that he/she has read and understood all of the foregoing and information supplied on this agreement is true and IAR and its affiliates will rely on it and upon all commitments used to enter into this Rental Agreement.
